Twenty-one days ago, I started sharing this history because I believed you deserved to know it. Today is the last post in this series – but it is not an ending.

“It’s a time to store up memories…”

That line from Mama Namibia was written for Jahohora, about the moments she needed to hold onto to survive. But I think it applies here, too.

Store up what you’ve learned this month. The names. The history. The 80 percent. The Omaheke. Shark Island. Jahohora. Hendrik Witbooi.

Store it up – and share it. That is the only thing I have ever asked.

If you haven’t yet read Mama Namibia, it’s waiting for you. In English and in German. In the tradition of the Herero elders who kept these stories alive against every attempt to extinguish them.

And if you want to share this history with a younger reader – Jahohora and First Day was written for them.

“May their legacy never be forgotten.”

Thank you for walking this road with me.

What story — from this campaign, from history, or from your own life — will you carry forward and share?
